[Edmund Alphonsus, the bike is a "Pierce".]

At the time of his marriage, Edmund was a printer.

Edmund Alphonsus Dunne married Dorothy Vera Whelan on September 5, 1925 in St Margaret Mary's, Melbourne. The witnesses were Leslie William Quarry[?] and Rita Irene Whelan. Dot's parents were David Whelan, a cooper, and Esther Brown who lived in the Melbourne suburb of Coburg.

(I don't know who provided the commentary.)

Edmund and Dot had two children, Patricia born about 1927 and Valerie born about 1933.
Dot died on July 24, 1964, aged 64, and Edmund died in October 1986, aged 90.

Graceburn Valley Orchard

on the outskirts of Healesville was part of the Graceburn Estate owned in the 1920s by a man by the name of Vear. At its peak, the orchard produced about 20,000 cases annually, mostly apples and pears. Presumably, Edmund (and/or Dot) was employed there in some capacity.

[This cool store was burned down in 1956 and replaced by a less picturesque building.]

[There is a small town Craigieburn on the Hulme Highway about 25km north west from Melbourne, and a bit over 50km from Healesville which is north east of Melbourne.]

The Maroondah Dam

711R "This is the wall of the Maroondah
Reservoir which they are building 8 miles
out of Healesville. It will be bigger than
Yan Yea when completed. The last contract
let was for million pounds and it
is going to take years to build. All the
water will be banked up to the right
of the wall and will run back 13 miles
through the valley."
708R "Another section of the wall showing the
side that will be all submerged.
You will notice the river there
and part of the valley.
Put these two photos together
and you will get a good idea of
the works put this one on the right
up to where you see the two lines marked X"

Maroondah Dam
It would have been a better fit if the photos had been taken from the same place!
