John Hyslop was born about 1826 in Kirkcudbrightshire, to Isabella (c1786 - ) and John Hyslop (c1786 - ).
1841 June 6 The 1861 census gives John's parent's names, the 1891 census gives John's bithplace as Kirkcudbrightshire which led me to the following entry in the parish of Kelton. The residence is not clear but I have interpreted it as Slatehole. His father appears to be elsewhere, there are a fair number of John Hyslops in Kirkcudbrightshire and if he was a carter, he could be anywhere, so I have searched no further.

It is not unknown for someone to give his (or her) stepmother's name but it introduces sufficient doubt to disregard this one for the time being.
Fanny Greaves was born about 1823 in Bakewell, Derbyshire, to Ann and Robert Greaves. [See Section GS-4-1 for possible family background.]
They had the following children (that I know of), all born in Manchester
Annie Greaves born about 1854, last sighting 1871. Margaret born in 1858, married Thomas McGee in 1875 and died in 1891. William born about 1860, married Jane about 1889. Isabella born about 1862, last sighting 1871. Mary born about 1868, last sighting 1881.
1852 John Hyslop and Fanny Greaves were married on Monday, December 27, by W. Wilson, Vicar, after Banns in the Catholic Parish Church in the Parish of Manchester in the County of Lancaster. The marriage was registered No.396 in the District of Manchester.
John gave his age as 25, a Bachelor, occupation Carter and residence as 15 Clarendon Place, Chorlton upon Medlock. His father is recorded as John Hyslop, Farm Labourer.
Fanny gave her age as 26, a Spinster residing at 79 Upper Brook Street, Chorlton upon Medlock. Her father is recorded as Robert Greaves, Plumber.
The witnesses were Thomas Woodruff and Dorothy Clen??son.
Clarendon Place was just off Clarendon Street between Lower Chatham Street and Lower Ormond Street, just west of Oxford Road. It has now vanished under a polytechnic building. Upper Brook Street is parallel to and just east of Oxford Road.
1858 Margaret was born on Friday, March 12, at 94 Cambridge Street. Her birth was registered No.475 in the Sub-district of Chorlton upon Medlock in the District of Chorlton in the County of Lancaster on April 14 by her mother. Her father's occupation is given as a Carter.
Cambridge Street runs south from near Oxford Road Station to where Stretford Road used to be. It now has a junction with the Mancunian Way.

I have no idea why they are apart, or why Margaret is missing; I failed to find her in my brief access to the English census data.
I don't know where the East comes from, the present Soho Street appears to be pretty central, off Moor Street just west of the railway station. Perhaps there once was another.
1875 On Saturday, October 30, Margaret married Thomas McGee in the Catholic Parish Church in the Parish of Manchester. [See Section MG-6-1 for further information.]

The family seem to have come together again. There is no sign of a suitable Annie or Isabella elsewhere in the census but they could both be married (or dead) by this date.
At the time of this census, Thomas McGee and Margaret were living in Townhead, Glasgow with two-year-old James.
c1889 William married Jane. [See Section HY-6-1 for further information.]
1891 April 5 John and Fanny were living with William and Jane
1897 It appears both John and Fanny died in the first quarter of this year, there are entries in the Index of Deaths for John Hyslop and Fanny G Hyslop, both Chorlton 8c 540.
