There is a picture of

which is too difficult to scan
without damaging the card.

"Ferdinand McDevitt sent you
an Easter post card.

My Easter eggs to you.
Maggie Cameron got
my letter and I am
seeing her on Saturday.
Fancy she is in Partick
a different part of the city
altogether. It went through
one person to Maggie's cousin
who brought it to her.
It is terrible here today. Am
taking fur hat to Dfs. Love from N."

"Johnnie Blair is here
again. I saw him with
a girl last night.
Had no visitors yesterday
as doubtless you already
know.
Isn't this a beautiful
post card. Remember me to the
members of the Dunne
family that I know.
Best love Nellie"

I wonder where Nellie got her hands on a French embroidered postcard,
all the other examples are from soldiers.

"P.S. We are to get our salaries
increased from Government
from April 1st of this year the average
is 14-5-0 yearly did you know.

Many thanks for note
and photograph, the latter
was very good. Aunt Mary
thinks Lena looks very
tricky. Tell Gerard I was
very, very pleased that
he wrote to me. I hope the
holiday will do them
both good. I saw your
favourites so purchased
them how do you like

them? Had a P.C. from
P.J.G. forwarded from home
saying he would put the
police on my track if I didn't
write. He said you had written
several times at all events
I think I will write before
I leave, perhaps tomorrow.
I am leaving here on
Saturday are you crossing
on Friday? I was in Dublin
last Thursday. These are well
worth a letter so send it along.
Remember me to your sisters. Love from
Nellie"

quite safely. The little
porter that spoke to
us saluted me as the train was

station - I think he was

"There is another nice post card for your
collection. Mary Quinn is not very well and
will probably have to extend her holiday.
Met Tom Foley. Gertie is away to be a nurse
and likes it immensely.

at the bazaar, saw
the doll but so far as I
know I have won
nothing. I think they
must have drawn
over 2000. There were
some magnificent
things on the stalls.
Hope you have a good
time at the dance.
I shall return on Tuesday
though the coal strike
may force me to return on
Monday, if trains are disorganised.
Love from Nellie"

"I am wondering if you have
managed to get home yet.
The "War Memorial" was
unveiled about a fortnight
ago, it is situated near
the English Church. It is built
of granite and is very
life-like. I am going to
Ireland the week after
next. Mrs Daly has not
even one of my blouses
finished and I have not
received them yet. Love, N."

"1.
These P.Cs I purchased in Dfs
[Dumfries] with
the intention of sending them when I heard
from you and I think this is the
pick of the bunch. You seem to have
had rather novel experiences to
put it mildly, at present Drogheda
is not bad, rifle shooting awaking
me several times every night
and sometimes you would believe
the bullets were rebounding from
the wall but they are not. Belfast
was quiet the week end I came
over and I was advised to travel
by usual way as Holyhead was
out of the question and Liverpool a
very long sail but I only took a

Liverpool, the boats only sail twice
a week. My reason for the change
is that Specials & women ! searchers
examine luggage at Bessbrook
& I object to have mine searched
by such people. I didn't know about
it until I saw the notice in a
paper a girl gave me in the train
when I left Belfast. The men on
the train were searched though
nothing was found but fortunately
the ladies were not though the
two women were on the platform.
When are you returning? I expect
to be in Broxburn on Sat. evening,
its too early a start leaving Dfs

dentist for Monday at 2.45 PM.
I'm sorry for that dentist, he
will get a terrible abuse
if he hurts him. Any
correspondence that has
arrived for me Aunt Mary
asked "Well, is that from Miss
Dunne?" She called me this
morning and asked was I
up and replying in the negative
she said "Well this is from Miss
Dunne, it has an Irish stamp",
and she brought it up to the
bedroom. The trains have been
running to Cashel for more
than a week, I saw [?]Dotie in
the [?]Tileman."
