1868 On Monday, February 3, Joseph Cunningham and Margaret Dunigan were married at Eastmuir, Shettleston after Banns according to the Forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The marriage was registered No.5 at Shettleston on the following day.
Joseph was a Bachelor, gave his age as 28, occupation Coal Miner and usual residence Eastmuir, Shettleston Parish, Lanark. His parents are recorded as John Cunningham, Coal Miner and Bridget Cunningham m.s. Queen (deceased).
Margaret was a Spinster age 22, occupation Bleacher and usual residence Shettleston, Lanark. Her parents are recorded as Henry Dunigan, Cotton Weaver and Mary Dunigan m.s. Smith.
The celebrant was Fr P. McLaughlin, Pastor of St. Paul's R.C. Church, Eastmuir and the witnesses were Henry Dunigan [probably Margaret's brother] and Elizabeth Coogans. [I wonder if she is the Eliza Coogans who married Patrick Houston in 1871, and would have been about 18 at this date.] The bride and groom made their marks, the witnesses apparently signed.
The marriage is noted in the Register of Marriages in St. Paul's with Elizabeth's surname as Coogan rather than Coogans.

She was baptised on October 12 by Fr Patrick McLaughlin in the parish of St. Paul's, Eastmuir with sponsor Margaret Dunigan. [Odd, better check that sometime.]

He was baptised by Fr George McBrearty in the parish of St. Paul's, Eastmuir on April 21 with sponsor Mrs Elizabeth Morans [probably Joseph's sister]. This record gives his date of birth as April 16.
1877 Bridget Cunningham was born at 4h0m a.m. on Wednesday, August 1 at No.13 Green Street, Shettleston, Lanark to Margaret Cunningham m.s. Dunigan and Joseph Cunningham, Coal Miner who married on February 3, 1868 at Eastmuir. Her birth was registered No.189 at Shettleston on the following day by Joseph Cunningham, "his X mark", Father.

Joseph's brother Patrick and his wife Catherine Dunigan were living up the same close.
1883 Margaret Cunningham, married to Joseph Cunningham, Coal Miner, died at 2h0m p.m. on Saturday, March 10, aged 37, at 13 Green Street, Shettleston of Phthisis as certified by James Houston, Surgeon. Her parents are recorded as Henry Dunigan, Hand Loom Weaver and Mary Dunigan m.s. Smith. Her death was registered No.44 at Shettleston on March 12 by Joseph Cunningham, "his X mark", Widower, Present.
There is an entry in the records of St. Peter's Cemetery (New), Dalbeth for March 12 of the burial of Margaret Cunningham, aged 35 who died of Dropsy. A fee of 12 shillings was paid for the burial. The title is No. 1281, lair number 46, Section 8E and the relationship of the deceased to the owner is not stated.
1890 On Friday, July 18, Edward Cairns and Mary Cunningham were married at St. Paul's R.C. Church, Shettleston after Publication according to the Forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The marriage was registered No.49 at Shettleston on July 21.
Edward was a Bachelor, gave his age as 25, occupation Coal Miner and usual residence Dyke Street, Baillieston. His parents are recorded as Dennis Cairns, Coal Miner (deceased) and Maria Cairns m.s. Colven.

1901 Henry Cunningham, Coal Miner, Married to Sarah Reid died at 0h noon on Tuesday, February 5 at Lightburn Hospital, Shettleston, age 26 years, of Enteric Fever [Typhoid] 48 days, Haemorrhage as certified by Alexander Robb, M.B.C.M. His usual residence is recorded as 2 Reid Street, Shettleston and his parents as Joseph Cunningham, Coal Miner and Margaret Cunningham m.s. Dunigan, both deceased.
