Rose Ann McKerracher was born about 1864 in Co. Antrim, Ireland to Ellen Ward (c1838 - 1898) and Daniel McKerracher, Furnaceman (c1836 - ). [See Section KR-6-1 for family background.]
1886 John McCarragher (Illegitimate) was born at 2h0m a.m. on Tuesday, March 9 at 19 Newhall Street to Rosann McCarragher, Dyework Spreader. His birth was registered No.383 at Glasgow [Bridgeton District] on March 22 by Rosann McCarragher, Mother.
Since John appears as John McLuskey with his grandfather Daniel McKerracher in 1891, I think it is fair to assume that John McCluskey was his father.
1887 On Thursday, April 21, John McCluskey and Rosann McCarragher were married at the Sacred Heart Chapel, Glasgow after Publication according to the Forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The marriage was registered No.117 at Glasgow [Bridgeton District] on April 23.
John was a Bachelor, gave his age as 24, occupation Coal Miner and usual residence 19 Newhall Street, Glasgow. His parents are recorded as Philip McCluskey, Coal Miner (deceased) and Ann McLeish, formerly McCluskey m.s. McCave.
Rosann was a Spinster, gave her age as 23, occupation Dyework Spreader and usual residence also 19 Newhall Street, Glasgow. Her parents are recorded as Daniel McCarragher, Ironwork Furnaceman and Ellen McCarragher m.s. Ward.
The celebrant was Francis Jn Hughes and the witnesses were John McGurk and Jane McKerracher [sic].
