John Lyons was baptised on Thursday, June 22, 1826 in the Parish of New Inn and Knockgraffon, son of Judith Farrell and Daniel Lyons. [See Section LS-4-1 for family background.]
Mary Fogarty is more elusive. I have noticed the following Fogarty events in Newinn.
1805 January 24 Thomas Fogarty and Anna Quirk married in Newinn, witnesses Edmund Maher and Patrick Donnel.
1817 February 16 Patrick Fogarty and Margaret Costigan married in Newinn, witnesses John Costigan and James Galligan.
There is a gap in the Register of Marriages after August 6, 1818, then one page of entries for January 30 & 31, 1819 before normal service is resumed on August 3, 1819.
Fogarty — Dennis & Margaret Fahy
1820 May 4 Margret, daughter of Dennis Fogarty and Margret Fahy was baptised at Newinn with sponsors James Marasy and Biddy Marasy.
1823 February 20 Bridget, daughter of Dennis Fogarty and Margret Fahy was baptised at Newinn with sponsors Edmund Tierny and Mary Daivny.
1825 December 28 Edmund of Dennis Fogarty and Margaret Fahy was baptised at Newinn with sponsors Michael Butler and Affe O'Brian.
1828 September 22 Elizabeth of Dennis Fogarty, New Inn and Margaret Fahy was baptised at Newinn with sponsors Denis and Anne Doherty.
None of which brings me any closer to Mary's ancestry.
1842 On Thursday, October 20 John Lynes and Mary Fogarty, both of Newinn, were married in Newinn with witnesses William Wall and Bridget Kennedy.
They had the following children (that I am aware of) —
1842 September 5 Michael (Illegt) of John Lynes, Dogstown, and Mary Fogarty was baptised at Newinn with sponsor Bridget Kennedy. (2502/1 page 97)
1879 There is the death of a Michael Lyons, age 38, registered at Cashel, Quarter 3, Volume 3, Page 314. [No image available]
1845 January 25 Patrick of John Lynes, Dogstown, and Mary Fogarty was baptised at Newinn with sponsors Edmund Halloran and Catherine Fogarty. (2502/1 page 106)
1847 July 15 John of John Lynes, Dogstown, and Mary Fogarty was baptised at Newinn with sponsor Bridget Kennelly [sic]. (2502/3 page 5)
1852 June 4 Ellen of John Lyons and Mary Fogarty, Boytonrath, was baptised at Newinn with sponsor Mary Hackett. (2502/3 page 15)
1873 Ellen Lyons married William Dunne. [See Section DN-6-1 for further information.]
There are three deaths registered at Cashel before 1900 for John Lyons —
1876 - Age 56, Quarter 4, Volume 18, Page 319. Our John would have been about 50.
1882 - Age 60, Quarter 2, Volume 3, Page 324. Our John would have been about 56.
1886 - Age 70, Quarter 2, Volume 3, Page 330. Our John would have been about 60.[No images available]
