Sarah Richard was born about 1846 in Co. Sligo, Ireland to Catherine Barrett (c1810 - ) and Edward Richard (died before 1861).

1866 On Thursday, November 29, Edward Connelly and Sarah Richard were married at Eastmuir, Shettleston After Banns According to the forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The marriage was registered No.46 at Shettleston on December 3.
Edward was a Bachelor, age 21½, occupation Coal Miner and usual address Sandyhills, Shettleston Parish. His parents are recorded as John Connelly, Coal Miner and Helen Connelly m.s. Benson.
Sarah was a Spinster, gave her age as 21, occupation Cotton Mill Worker and usual address Shettleston, Lanark. Her parents are recorded as Edward Richard, Farmer, Deceased and Catherine Richard m.s. Barrett. Sarah made "her X mark" on the registration forms.
The celebrant was P McLaughlin, Pastor of St. Paul's Rom. Cath. Church, Eastmuir and the witnesses were Patrick Richards and Catherine Barrett (who also made "her X mark").

1889 June 22 Edward registered the death of his brother-in-law Thomas Dobbin, husband of Ellen, giving his own address as Main Street, Shettleston.

I have not found a suitable death registration for Edward in Shettleston or Old Monkland West.
1901 March 31 The family were living at Burntbroom Colliery Row, Mount Vernon, in a house with one windowed room.
