1907 On Friday, October 25, Patrick Smyth and Agnes McDermott were married at the Roman Catholic Chapel, Cleland [St. Mary's] after Banns and Publication according to the Forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The marriage was registered No.30 at Cleland on October 26.
Patrick was a Bachelor, age 25, occupation Coalminer and usual residence Omoa Square, Cleland. His parents are recorded as Patrick Smyth, Coalminer and Catherine Smyth m.s. Reynolds.
Agnes was a Spinster, gave her age as 21 [she was 22 + 11 days], no occupation recorded and usual residence Omoa Road, Cleland. Her parents are recorded as Hugh McDermott, Coal Miner and Ellen McDermott m.s. Tonner.
The celebrant was Peter Murray and the witnesses were Thomas Smyth and Bridget McDermott [probably Agnes's sister].
This was quite a family affair. Agnes was the sister of Annie, Ellen and Rosina who married Patrick's uncles John, Joseph and Francis Reynolds.

1911 April 2 The family were living at No.5 Omoa Road, Cleland (next door to the remnants of Agnes's family) in a house with one windowed room.
