Cecilia Colvin was born about 1839 in Shettleston, Lanarkshire to Cecilia Murray (c1801 - before 1851) and James Colvin, Cotton Hand Loom Weaver (c1801 - 1856). [See Section CL-5-1 for family background.]
1872 On Thursday, September 26, Francis Havlin and Cecilia Colvin were married at Eastmuir, Shettleston [St. Paul's] after Banns according to the forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The marriage was registered No.45 at Shettleston on September 28.
Francis was a Bachelor, gave his age as 30, occupation Boiler Maker and usual residence Calton [now Dalness] Street, Tollcross. His parents are recorded as Patrick Havlin, Furnaceman and Mary Ann Havlin, m.s. Kean.
Cecilia was a Spinster, gave her age as 26 [she must have been about 32 if she was one in 1841], occupation Steam Loom Weaver and usual residence Lightburn, Shettleston. Her parents are recorded as James Colvin, Cotton Weaver, and Cecilia Colvin, m.s. Murray, both deceased.
The celebrant was Fr. G. McBrearty and the witnesses were James McFadyn and Mary Havlin (who married two months later).
Francis signed, the others made their marks.
The marriage is noted in the Register of Marriages for St. Paul's.

1879 Cecilia Havlin was born at 4h0m a.m. on Sunday, October 26 at Brown's Land, Sunnyside Road, Coatbridge to Cecilia Havlin m.s. Colvin and Francis Havlin, Boilermaker (Journeyman), who married on September 26, 1872 at Eastmuir near Glasgow. Her birth was registered No.706 at Coatbridge [Old Monkland Middle District] on November 15 by F. Havlin, Father, Present.
1881 April 3 Francis and Cecilia were masquerading as Havelands, living in Brown's Building, Sunnyside Road, Coatbridge, in a house with one windowed room.

1891 April 5 I see nothing obvious for Francis and Cecilia and family in this census in Lanarkshire.
1899 On Tuesday, February 14, Mary Ann married William Tollan at St. Michael's Chapel, Parkhead, Glasgow. [See Section TN-7-1 for further information.]

1906 Francis Havelin, Corporation Labourer, Married to Celilia Colvin, died at 5h0m a.m. on Sunday, March 11 at 4 Drumother Mansions, Tollcross, age 52 years [I think he was nearer 64], of Pulmonary Congestion, 14 days, Cardiac Failure as certified by Matthew Martin, MBCM. His parents are recorded as Patrick Havelin, Furnaceman and Mary Ann Havelin m.s. Kane, both deceased. His death was registered No.106 at Shettleston on the following day by Cecilia Havelin, "her X mark", Widow, Present.
Francis Havlin, age 52, cause of death Bronchitis, was buried on March 13 in St. Peter's Cemetery, Dalbeth in lair 205, section 9C, title 1537. A fee of 12/6d was paid. The relationship to the owner is not stated.
1912 Cecilia Havelin, Widow of Francis Havelin, Boilermaker, died at 1h15m p.m. on Thursday, February 1 at 38 Church Street, Baillieston, age 67 years [I think she was nearer 73], of Bronchitis, Two Months and Senile Heart, as certified by W. Noble, MBChB. Her parents are recorded as James Colvin, Handloom Weaver and Cecilia Colvin m.s. Murray, both deceased. Her death was registered No.19 at Baillieston on the same day by William Tollan, Son-in-law, Present.
Cecilia Havlin, age 67, cause of death Debility, was buried on February 3 in the same lair as Francis in St. Peter's Cemetery, Dalbeth. A fee of 12/6d was paid.
