Dorothy Vera Whelan was born in Brunswick, Victoria about 1900 to Esther Brown and David Whelan, a Cooper.
1925 On Saturday, September 5, Edmund and Dot were married by Fr. John Peter O'Connell in St. Margaret Mary's RC Church in the District of North Brunswick The marriage is No.267 in the church register. [VIC Ref 1925/7967]
Edmund gave his age as 28, occupation as Printer and present and usual address as 141 Highett St., Richmond. His parents are recorded as Edward Dunne, Civil Servant and Mary Louisa Gobbi.
Dot gave her age as 26, occupation Typist and present and usual address as 17 Walsh St., Coburg. Her parents are recorded as David Whelan, Cooper and Esther Brown.
The witnesses were Leslie William Quarry (I think) and Rita Irene Whelan (sister of the bride).

We have some photos of the Maroondah Dam under construction near Healesville in the mid 1920s and others in the vicinity which were taken on the Graceburn Valley Orchard, owned at that time by a man named Vear, including one of Dot and one of "self" which I take to be Edmund. It is my educated guess that Edmund was working on the orchard, possibly in a managerial capacity (he doesn't look like a fruit picker!).

1964 On Wednesday, July 29, Dot died at 24 Oakleigh Road, Glenhuntly, aged 64, of Myocardial infarct - immediate, Atherosclarosis - 3 years +, certified by I. McCready who last saw the deceased on June 5. Her death was registered No.16045 at Melbourne on August 7 by P. Dunne, 24 Oakleigh Road, Glenhuntly, Daughter.
Her occupation is listed as Home Duties and her parents as David Whelan, Cooper, and Esther Whelan, formerly Brown.
Dot was buried on August 3 in St. Kilda Cemetery, Undertaker H.King, witnesses A.Bailey and B.Cox.
Born in Coburg, Victoria, married at age 25 in Brunswick, Victoria to Edmund Dunne. Her "Conjugal Condition at date of Death" is given as Married which I take to mean that Edmund was still alive.
Her children are listed as Patricia (37) and Valerie (31).
