Kathleen O'Connor was born about 1894 in Bellarine (a small town east of Geelong), Victoria to Victoria Flanagan and Thomas O'Connor, Storekeeper, both of whom were alive when Kathleen married in 1916.

1917 Herbert John Thomas was born in Romsey on Saturday, March 3. His birth was registered No.94 in the District of Romsey [VIC Ref 1917/7093] on March 12 by his grandmother, Victoria O'Connor who gave Herbert Snr.'s occupation as Clerk. The Accoucheur was Dr. Murdoch and the midwife Mrs. Haley.

1945 Kathleen Margaret O'Conner died and was buried in Fawkner Cemetery on July 18. [Plot R/C-1-1971, ref 90665]
1961 Herbert died at 3 Gray Street, East Preston on Friday, February 24, aged 69, of Acute heart failure - sudden, Arterioscleosis - years and Massive post-operative ventral hernia - 3 years as certified by Dr. M. McKenna who last saw the deceased on February 14. His death was registered No.3455 in the State of Victoria by J. Dunne, 20 Lang Street, Beaumaris (adjacent to Mentone).
His occupation is recorded as Policeman and his parents as John Dunne, Police Officer, and Margaret Dunne, formerly Cashen.
Herbert was buried on February 28 at Fawkner Cemetery [Plot R/C-1-1971, ref 156312] beside his wife Kathleen. The undertaker was L. Tobin and the witnesses were V. McDonald (possibly a priest) and T. Tobin.
Herbert was born in South Melbourne, Victoria, 69 years in Victoria, married at age 24 in Melbourne, Victoria to Kathleen Margaret O'Connor.
