Florence Magdelen Dunne was born in Richmond, Melbourne about 1893 to Louise Gobbi (c1862 - 1940) and Edward Dunne (c1861 - 1928), Railway-man. [See DN-6-3 for family background.]
1914 On Saturday, September 19, James and Florence were married in St. Ignatius' RC Church, Richmond by Fr. Auguste Fleury. The marriage is No.176 in the church register. [VIC Ref 1914/7463.]
James gave his age as 27, occupation Printer and present and usual address as 141 Highett St., Richmond (the Dunne family home). His parents are recorded as John Cook, Turn-cock and Margaret Ann Merner.
Florence gave her age as 21, occupation White-work and present and usual address also as 141 Highett St. Her parents are recorded as Edward Dunne, Railway-man and Louise Gobbi.
The witnesses were Mary Louise Dunne (Florence's sister) and Thomas Joseph Cook.

We have a number of photographs of the Cooks, some, of Teddy and/or Bernie are dated July 1924, one of J. Cook and a family group (unfortunately faded) at the beach at Mentone, and a number taken on a farm by a flooded river (a printer living on a farm?).
