This is probably the family of Helen Allan who married James Lafferty at Wishaw, Parish of Cambusnethan in 1854 (for which I have not found a record).
1851 March 30 The following household dwelt at Knownoble on the outskirts of the present village of Cleland.

A few doors away, there dwelt -

1854 On Friday, February 3, Ellen married James Lafferty in Wishaw. [See Section LY-5-1 for further information.]
1861 April 7 A search for Isaac Allan in the census index for Lanarkshire turned up only two entries, a 38 year old in Calton, Glasgow and a 21 year old living on his own in Pollockshill who may be the Isaac aged 14 in 1851.
Rel. Mar. Age Occupation Birthplace Isaac Allen Head Un 21 Labourer Ireland - | 1 I wonder where Isaac Snr. was.
Pending further investigation, I think this is John in Hamilton Road, Newarthill.

1863 On Wednesday, September 16, Isaac Allan and Sarah Houston were married at Clark's Land, Cambusnethan after Banns according to the Forms of the Established Church of Scotland. The marriage was registered No.85 at Wishaw on the following day.
Isaac was a Widower, gave his age as 56, occupation Ironstone Labourer and usual residence Newarthill, Shotts [sic]. His parents are recorded as John Allan, Farmer and Catherine Allan m.s. Richardson, both deceased.
Sarah was a Widow, gave her age as 60, occupation Tambourer and usual residence Cambusnethan. Her parents are recorded as Thomas Houston, Farmer and Elizabeth Houston m.s. Kidd, both deceased.
The officiating minister was Henry M. Robertson, Minister of Newmains and the witnesses were Joseph Clarke and Mary Clarke.
Isaac, Sarah and Mary made their marks, Joseph signed.
1864 On Friday, April 29, Isaac married Hannah Keers at Johnston Vale, Parish of Bothwell. [See Section AL-5-1 for further information.]
1871 April 2 The following household was living at Cleland (Paddy's Castle) [enumerator's comment, not mine] in a dwelling with one windowed room.
Rel. Mar. Age Occupation Birthplace Isaac Allan Head Mar 69 Labourer at Pit Ireland Sarah [Houston] Wife Mar 68 do. Isaac and Hannah (Keers) were living by the Edinburgh and Glasgow Turnpike Road at Newhouse.
Ellen and John (McNicol, her second husband) were living at Watson's Square, Newarthill.
There is a John Allan, unmarried, age 41, occupation Ironstone Miner, born in Ireland - one of two boarders with Alexander Cherrie and family in Newarthill in a house with two windowed rooms. He would be a reasonable fit with this family.
1871 Isaack Allan, Labourer at Coal & Iron Pits, married to Sarah Houston died at 7h0m a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, aged 69 years, at Omoa Square of Old age as certified by John T. Barrie MD. His parents are recorded as Thomas Allan, Farmer and Janet Allan m.s. Richardson, both deceased. His death was registered No.104 at Shotts on the following day by John Allan, "his X mark", Coal Miner, Newarthill, Son.
Perhaps John did not think it necessary to mention an earlier wife, or I'm chasing the wrong family. Time will tell.
[John's death - not 1875 Bothwell 625/1-89]
1881 April 3 I think this might be Sarah living at 67 Cambusnethan Street, Cambusnethan.

1887 Sarah Allan (Pauper), widow of 1st William ------; 2nd Robert Black; 3rd Isaac Allan, died at 3h0m a.m. on Saturday, September 17, aged 90 years, at 67 Cambusnethan of Haemiplegia [Hemiplegia - probably a stroke] after 4 days as certified by J Millar, LRCSE. Her parents are recorded as Thomas Houston, Farmer and Betsy Houston m.s. Kidd, both deceased. Her death was registered No.266 at Cambusnethan on the same day by Thomas Allan, Inspector of Poor, Wishaw [who was also the Registrar].
