Hugh McDermott was born about 1845 in Ireland to Rose Tracy ( - ) and William McDermott, Tailor ( - ).
Ellen Toner was born about 1849 in Ireland.
1868 There is a marriage registered in Londonderry (Quarter 1, Volume 12, Page 187) between Hugh McDermott and Eleanor Toner. Unfortunately, there is no image available so I am unable to confirm the date but the majority of birth registrations give it as Monday, August 24. Which isn't Quarter 1 but I noticed that all the registrations which came up while I was searching were allegedly Quarter 1.
Hugh and Ellen had the following children (that I know of) —
Annie born about 1868 in Ireland and married (1) Thomas Brady in 1888,
(2) John Reynolds in 1901, last sighting 1930.Ellen born in 1869 at Bowhousebog, Shotts, married Joseph Reynolds in 1890, last sighting 1937. Rosina born in 1871 at Bowhousebog, Shotts, married Francis Reynolds in 1889, last sighting 1924. Hugh born in 1873 in Shotts, last sighting 1891. c1868 Annie was born in Ireland. I am unable to find a suitable registration. The nearest I could find is Anne McDermott, born on July 4, 1867 to James McDermott and Catherine Kearney of Creggan Bridge near Derry. Which is probably a total red herring.
Annie married Thomas Brady in 1888 and John Reynolds in 1901.
