Samuel Hill was born about 1813 in England.
Agnes Dunigan was born on May 5, 1818 in Shettleston, Lanarkshire, daughter of John Dunigan (Weaver) and Catherine Cairney. She was baptised on May 17 by Fr Andrew Scott in St Andrew's, Glasgow. [See Section DG-4-1 for family background.]
I have yet to establish the connection between this Agnes Dunigan and Sarah Dunigan, wife of James McGee but I am convinced there is one and my current guess is half-sister.
Samuel and Agnes had the following children (that I know of)
Catherine (1) born about 1844 and died before 1849. Elizabeth born in 1846 in Shettleston, last sighting 1871 Catherine (2) born in 1849 and probably died before 1855 Samuel born in 1852 in Shettleston, last sighting 1881 Catherine (3) born in 1857 in Tradeston, Glasgow, last sighting 1881 Maria born in 1861 in Tradeston, Glasgow, last sighting 1881
1841 July Samuel Hill and Agnes Dunigan were married in Glasgow, according to the birth certificate of their daughter Maria born in 1861. A search of Catholic marriage records on-line failed to turn up anything relevant (between 1835 and 1845). Nor could I find anything in the OPRs.
1844 The first Catherine was born, she was not baptised until 1846.
1846 From the Register of Baptisms for St. Mary's, Abercromby Street, Calton
Elizabeth, lawful child of Samuel Hill and Agnes Dunnegan was born on Saturday, February 21, and baptised on Monday, May 11 by Michael Condon with sponsors Bernard Dunnigan and Elizabeth Dunnigan.
Catherine, lawful child of Samuel Hill and Agnes Dunnigan, being 2 years old, was baptised on Monday, May 25 by Thomas Fogarty with sponsors James McGee and Catherine Dunnigan.
1849 From the Register of Baptisms for St. Mary's, Abercromby Street, Calton
Catherine, lawful child of Samuel Hill and Agnes Donegan was born on Saturday, March 3 and baptised on June 4 by William Lillis with sponsors Bernard Donegan and Elizabeth Donegan.
So, it appears the first Catherine has died.
1851 March 30 The Hills were living in the Cotton Land, Shettleston.

1852 The following is to be found in the Register of Baptisms for St Paul's, Eastmuir
Samuel, lawful child of Samuel Hill and Agnes Dunigan, Con.[vert?] C., was born on Wednesday, August 11, 1852 and baptised on September 5 by Eugene Small with sponsors James McGhee and Ann McGhee.
1857 A third Catherine Hill was born at 10h30m a.m. on Tuesday, December 15 at 63½ Commerce Street, Glasgow to Agnes Hill m.s.Donegan and Samuel Hill, Police Lamplighter. Her birth was registered No.1424 at Glasgow [District of Tradeston] on December 17 by Samuel Hill, Father.
I could find no record of the second Catherine's death so assume she died before civil registration began in 1855.
1861 April 7 The family were living at 63½ Commerce Street, Tradeston in a house with two windowed rooms.
