1859 On Friday, August 26, Thomas Greer and Jane McMullen [sic] were married at the Manse of Shotts after Banns according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. The marriage was registered No.36 at Shotts on the same day.
Thomas was a Bachelor, gave his age as 23, occupation Iron Miner and usual residence Lochridge, Parish of Shotts. His parents are recorded as John Greer, Labourer and Margaret Greer m.s. Meiklevany.
Jane was a Spinster, gave her age as 19, no occupation recorded and usual residence Lochridge, Shotts. Her parents are recorded as Thomas McMullen, Coal Miner (deceased) and Margaret McMullen m.s. Cunningham.
The officiating minister was William M Watt, Minister of Shotts and the witnesses were Jane Walker and Christina Walker.

1870 Twins Mary & Elizabeth Greer were born at 11h0m & 11h10m a.m. respectively on Monday, May 23 at 83 Graigmark, Dalmellington to Jane Greer m.s. McMillan and Thomas Greer, Coalminer who married on August 25 [sic], 1859 at Shotts. Their births were registered Nos.145 & 146 at Dalmellington on June 13 by Jane Greer, "her X mark", Mother.
1871 April 2 The family were living at 83 Craigmark [a mining village about a mile north-west of Dalmellington] in a house with two windowed rooms.

McMillan and Thomas Greer, Coal Miner who married on August 25 [sic], 1859 in Shotts Parish. His birth was registered No.42 at Shettleston on January 27 by Thomas Greer, Father.
c1878 Jessie was born in Shettleston.
1881 April 3 The family were living at 141 Main Street, Tollcross in a house with 2 windowed rooms.

1901 March 31 Thomas Snr. and Edward were living with Elizabeth and Alexander (Hayes) in Shettleston. I haven't looked for the others.
