1878 On Monday, October 7 Patrick McNee and Mary Woods were married at Eastmuir R.C. Church [St. Paul's] After Banns According to the forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The marriage was registered No.38 at Shettleston on the same day.
Patrick was a Bachelor, gave his age as 23, occupation Coal Miner and usual residence Reid Street, Shettleston, Lanark. His parents are recorded as Thomas McNee, Coal Miner (deceased) and Mary Jane McNee m.s. Kelly.
Mary was a Spinster, gave her age as 22, occupation Cotton Winder and usual residence Sandyhills, Shettleston, Lanark. Her parents are recorded as Daniel Woods, Coal Miner (deceased) and Catherine Woods m.s. McGuire. Mary made "her X mark".
The celebrant was Fr. G. McBrearty, Cath. Clergyman and the witnesses were James Burke (who made "his X mark") and Mary McCormick.
